About the Course

Join us this autumn/winter for a course that will refresh, renew and reinvigorate your techniques and approaches to teaching Irish in the JUNIOR classes.

We explore class lessons, tasks, ideas and fun activities that will build your childrens’ competence and confidence in using Irish across the ten themes and all four strands. We itemise techniques, approaches and methodologies; provide a bountiful harvest of activities and games; identify solid active resources and deliver what you need to get them chatting, communicating and living the language………. and also we provide a FREE nine month subscription to the excellent site (worth €19.99) where plenty of excellent material awaits to additionally support your Irish language lessons. This subscription runs to June 30th 2019. ‘Bígí linn!’ in summer 2018.

NOTE:  the course is presented at times through Irish, without translation, and at other times, some of the readings on second language teaching practice is in English. However, the level of Irish used should be accessible to every primary teacher.

The online format of this course enables you to study at a time and place that best suits your own needs. 

Summer course access is available from July 1st to 5pm on Friday, August 23rd 2019.

Within this highly interactive web based course, a dynamic learning experience awaits, where you can interact with your fellow course participants through the in-course chat forums and communication tools provided by the CPD College learning system. 

Our friendly and knowledgeable tutors actively support each course, providing expert interaction, guidance and feedback for all participants on chat questions and assignments which call for critical reflection, self-analysis and a reasoned response. Please note that forum assignments may be submitted in English or Irish.

On successful completion of your course, you can download and print off your CPD record and certificate of completion.

01 -  Beidh múinteoirí in ann 'na gnéithe is tábhachtaí de cheacht cumarsáide' a líostáil agus eolas a thabhairt futhu mar aon leis na gnéithe a chothaíonn meon dearfach i leanaí i leith foghlaim na Gaeilge sa tseomra ranga agus sa bhaile a liostáil.
02 -  Déanfaidh múinteoirí scrúdú ar ról lárnach na drámaíochta agus an rólghlactha. Tuigfidh siad gur theicníc agus gur mheán cumarsáide é an drámaíocht agus an rólghlacadh atá spríúil agus fiúntach d’fhoglaim na Gaeilge.
03 -  Beidh múinteoirí in ann gníomhaíochtaí suimiúla, cluichí agus tascanna a mhiondealú, a phleanáil agus a chruthú bunaithe ar na deich dtéamaí. 
04 -  Cuirfear smaointí agus gníomhaíochtaí ar fáil do mhúinteoirí le Gaeilge (éisteachta agus labhartha) a imeascadh in ábhar eile.
05 -  Beidh múinteoirí ar an eolas conas McF (AFL) a úsáid agus é a chur isteach i bplean ceachta, agus a chur ar fáil i nGaeilge bunaithe ar TAFF Táimid ag foghlaim faoi (WALT), PEAT Pointí Eolais a Theastaíonn (WILF) agus ar an múnla AISEOLAIS.
